Elford Village

News from February’s Parish Council meeting

Residents came to Open Forum to ask for trees at the end of The Beck to be cut back and the footway on the A513 to be cleared.

The planning application at the Social Club was also discussed. Residents should send their views to Planning at Lichfield District Council. The Parish Council’s comments will be sent shortly.

The bus shelter will need to be moved, but no decision has yet been made on where it can be relocated.

The notice board outside the Village Hall is to be replaced, as it will be more cost effective in the long run than repairs.

Councillors suggested various ideas that the Parish Council will look into for the future and to improve how it communicates with residents.

A canoe access platform is to be installed next to the River Tame by the picnic area.

Best Kept Village Community competition is to be revamped and villagers are encouraged to take part in telling the organisers about community events that have taken place in Elford over the past year. Anyone wishing to join a group to help organise Elford’s entry please contact the Clerk on 01827 50230 or clerk@elfordparish.co.uk.
