News from June’s Parish Council meeting

The Parish Council held a video meeting on June 9th on zoom. Members of the public are welcome to view these meetings online until we can resume meetings at the Village Hall, and just need to contact the Clerk first to be sent a link.

As a planning application is being considered for the land at the Social Club, the bus shelter will need to be moved, and the most appropriate site is near to the Croft Close junction, at the back of the pavement. The school pupils will then be able to shelter while waiting for the coach. It was agreed to inform nearby residents and Bromford Homes about this proposal. It is hoped to discuss the route of the right of way across the site at a meeting with a representative of the developer.

The Annual Governance and Audit Report was approved, the Parish Council was able to self-certify that the Audit had been completed and the documents would be published according to regulations.

The Parish Council had recently worked with a resident and Home Farm to publish information on the website and Facebook about fertiliser spreading to keep residents informed. The Council is grateful to Home Farm for offering to provide a field for parking at the next Scarecrow Festival.

The village is looking neat and tidy and those who had helped with mowing, planting flowers, painting at the playground and maintenance would be thanked for their hard work. Any help from residents with watering the plant tubs near their homes will be appreciated.

Councillors commented on issues such as fly tipping, rights of way, hedges and the help provided by the Coronacrew volunteers, and Cllr Leytham updated everyone on recent news from Lichfield District Council.
