Howard Primary School
The Howard Primary school is a thriving, friendly and happy school serving the beautiful village of Elford, close to the ancient capital of Mercia, Tamworth. We have very close links with the village and also the Village of Awoignt in Northern France. We make the most of our local area and the children are regular visitors to the Walled Gardens.
The school building dates back to 1856 when Lady Mary Howard provided the funds for a free school in Elford. The building has been developed over the years and is a wonderful place to learn. The school makes the most of its extensive grounds and they are used to enhance all areas of the curriculum.
Our school curriculum has been devised in conjunction with our sister schools and offers our children a broad and balanced education which is real and relevant to life in the 21st Century. Opportunities for enriching our children's learning is carefully planned to ensure that there is a love of learning and enables every child to flourish in an ever-changing world. We have worked hard to create a curriculum that will have an impact on our children not just in terms of their attainment but as individuals and citizens of the future.
Our Academy motto ‘Believe and Achieve’ encourages our children to believe in themselves to be the best they can.
We operate an open-door policy and would love to show you what we have to offer. Vacancies are currently available. If you would like to visit the school to see how we can work in partnership to develop your child please don’t hesitate to make an appointment.
